Manchester City Make Official Bid For Lescott

Labels: , , ,

Man City has launched a £15 million bid for Everton’s Joleon Lescott.

Despite David Moyes claim that “no players will be sold at Everton... ...The board have never sold a player from me” Manchester City are to test that claim. The Everton chairman Bill Kenwright backed his manager: “There is no pressure on David to sell any one. Any decisions are his and his alone.”

However reports suggest that Lescott would be interested in a move and if the player were to hand in a transfer request then Everton would have little choice but to try and get the best value for the player.

Manager’s have frequently made steadfast claims only to back track for example Taggart of the swamp said that United would not be buying any more players in a press conference when today it has been announced that they are to sign 21-year-old Senegalese striker Biram Diouf from Molde.

Lescott signed for Everton from Wolves in 2006 and became an immediate success winning player of the season and player’s player of the season. His outstanding displays at both left back and his preferred central defensive role propelled him into the England squad.
