Labels: , , ,

The News of the World is reporting that John Terry has had his meeting with Roman Abramovich (see previous posts 1, 2). The article claims that Terry wants to speak to Manchester City officials over a move to the club.

The Headlines would stop if Terry wanted them to - magic words : "I'm staying at Chelsea"

The meeting took place whilst the rest of the squad were at a charity event in aid of Right to Play. Terry would find it difficult to leave Chelsea however the reported £280,000 a week, £5 million signing on fee, the setting up of a “John Terry Foundation” and a lucrative contract with Umbro (City’s new partner) is something he would be interested in hearing more details about. Especially as “City are the up and coming team in English football” with the money to fulfil the ambitions of owner Sheik Mansour.

The Times reported on Saturday that Terry has even asked Chris Nathaniel help negotiate a contract; the football deal maker has helped Terry in the past with a lucrative book deal. Nathaniel also represents Robinho and Micah Richards.

The Sunday Express is also reporting that Terry wants a move to Manchester City, claiming that Chelsea want Newcastle defender Steven Taylor as a replacement. City's proposed offer of £35 million for the England Captain would prove too much to turn down according to influential people at Stamford Bridge.

Along with the reporting signing of Tevez on Tuesday, Terry’s inclusion to the squad would put City in a strong position to challenge Arsenal for the 4th Champions league place.
